The fastest way to get help is by email: support@tomomark.com

Include your macOS version, the kind of document you were working with, and the engine you're using so we can help faster.

Which file formats can I import?

PDF, Markdown, plain text, epub, docx, PNG and JPEG. By default the file is copied into your library folder and your original is never modified. You can also link a document in place if you would rather keep it where it is.

What happens to the layout when I translate?

TomoMark analyzes the page, translates paragraph by paragraph, and sets each translation back into the space the original text occupied, so columns, headings, tables, captions and figures stay where they were. You can read the original, the translation, or both side by side, and export a translated PDF, a bilingual PDF, or page images.

Which translation engines are supported?

Translation runs on your Mac by default, through Apple's translation framework or Apple Intelligence on macOS 26. You can also connect any of 27 engines with your own key, including DeepL, Google, Microsoft, Tencent, Baidu, Youdao, Alibaba, Volcano Engine, Amazon, OpenAI, Claude, Gemini and DeepSeek, aggregators like OpenRouter, 302.AI and AiHubMix, or a local model in Ollama or LM Studio. Anything not on the list can be reached with the Custom API.

How does the free trial and purchase work?

TomoMark includes a 7-day free trial of everything. Unlocking it afterwards is a one-time purchase, no subscription, handled entirely through the Mac App Store. When the trial ends the documents already in your library stay readable, along with browsing, search, Quick Look, document and journal details, word lookup and your wordbook. Importing, translating, exporting, batch runs and glossaries need the full version. If you've already bought TomoMark, use Restore Purchases in the app's settings to unlock it on a new Mac.

Can I use TomoMark with no network at all?

Yes. Importing, reading, on-device translation, export, the system dictionary and the offline ECDICT all work with the network off. Cloud engines and the online dictionaries and encyclopedias stay available whenever you want them, and each one asks you to agree before its first request.

Where are my API keys stored?

API keys, tokens, and secrets are stored in the macOS Keychain on your device. They're used only to authenticate requests to the service they belong to and are never sent anywhere else. For more, see the Privacy Policy.

Where does my library live, and how do I move it?

In a folder you choose the first time you import something. Everything TomoMark knows about a document, including translations, highlights and your reading position, is stored inside that folder, so it moves with a copy or a backup. You can point TomoMark at a different location in Settings ▸ General.

Something isn't working. What should I send?

Email us with your macOS version, the document type, the engine you're using, and a short description of what you expected versus what happened. A screenshot of any error message helps a lot.
